Our Story

La Parota Mexican Restaurant has been a cherished destination for authentic Mexican cuisine in Farmville, VA, since 2000. Family-owned and operated by Jorge and Maria Solorio, La Parota brings the rich and vibrant flavors of Michoacán, Mexico, to the heart of Virginia. The restaurant was named after La Parota, a quaint ranch near the border of Jalisco and Michoacán, where Jorge and Maria first met. Their love for food and passion for sharing their culinary traditions are at the heart of everything they do, making La Parota a beloved fixture in the community.

The menus varied well. I ordered 4 mixed meat quasadillas. Beef and chicken. Very tasty. Lot of food. My friends order made me jealous though. Texas fajitas were outstanding and they came on a sizzling griddle pan. Very fresh. Wait staff are attentive and friendly. My favorite dessert is the xangos. Its delicious. A must have. Also try the Berrias tacos, very good. The salse verde is a nice spicy addition.
